Showing of Gold in Kerr Well IncreasesGold-bearing quartz discoveredin a water well being drilled on the40-aere farm of J, A, Jackson inKerr County is showing an increase of the precious metal as the drilling progresses, it was announced early this week. The farm is located 12 miles northwest of Kerrville, in the vicinity of Johnson Creek.A sample of formation taken from the well at a depth of 270 feet, upon analysis by the Custom Assay Office at El Paso, was found to contain one-third of an ounce of gold to the ton of ore. Another sample taken from a depth of 405 feet in preliminary. tests showed to be much richer in gold content,An official report of the second test by the Custom Assay Office is now being awaited.The Kerr County “strike” is creating considerable interest. In the past few days numbers of engineers and others interested in mining developments have visited the Jackson farm, many of them obtaining formation samples for assay tests.
