Settle, internationally famous founder of “Wings Over Jordan’’ rushed into Cleveland end out again this week while rumors flew about his head ocncern-ir.g the recent action taken by n.embeiship of Gethsemane Baptist ousting him from the pastorate.The suave, smiling minister was virtually noncommittal when reporters attempted to clarify the issues in the Gethsemane affair, but finally agreed to issue a brief statement, which when it arrived, left his interrogators completely atsea.Wrote Rev. Settle:“It is contrary to the rules andregulations of the Baptist Church for any of its members to divtnge any of the business of the church to non-members, without the authority and approval of the church body. Therefore, being first a Christian and a good Baptist, and not having the authority nor the approval of any church to divulge its affairs, I shall not at this time, violate the sanctity of my church, the Gethsemane Baptist Church, Cleveland, Ohio.I have not nerved as an active pastor of any church organisation(Continued on Page 9-A, Col. 1)
