A.rOrganization and Election ofGeneral Committee.SUB - COMMITTEES APPOINTED*The Reading1 Room to toe Under the Control of the Organization—SundayAfternoon Meetings.r• Acting under the advices of State Secretary Speares a number ofvoung and middle aged men of the town have organized a Provisional V. M. C^A. The entrance fee is fixed at one dollar, and montlilv dues of ten cents. This places it within the the reach of all. The Provisional committee elected are as follows:Wm. Corkhill, C. H. Cornell , George Scbville, P. Gruendvkg and F. M. Baldwin. Wm. Corkhill Was chosen a§ corresponding member, and C. H. Cornell, treasurer. The generallowing sub committees:On gospel meetings, F» M. Baldwinchairman; Chas. Scott, Chas. Peach. On social entertainment. Geo. Sco-' ville, chairman, Prof. Qstrom, W. A. Wheeler. On prayer meetings at the houses of members, Wm. Corkhill, chairman, C. S. McMillan, A. It. Caldwell. Committee :on reading room literature, C. H. Cornell,chairman, W. C. Barth, Arthur Taber.The reading room trustees have transferred the reading room and all pertaining tliereto'to the Y. M. C. A. who will take sole charge. They will endeavor to make it as eomfor-tahle as possible for the general public besides making it a place to hold SuSaay afternoon meetings foryoung { men. As the reading room has become? almost a part of our town,(Where not only the strangers but many of our own people spend considerable time) we are sure that those who hitherto have subscribed ! to its-support, will continue to dp so jand no doubt mam* who have not done so will now lend a helping hand, especially when they know it is for so laudable an object as the uplifting of the young man in particular, And the human family in general.I will keep the public informedthrough the Bee of the progress ofthe association and in the meantimeeontributers of magazines, daily orweekly papers or literature of anykind will be thankfully received or ifanyone wishes to donate monev,, the » •»smallest sum will be thankfully received and applied where it will do the most good. All we have to do ill thinking of this matter, is to think of our bovs, of the difference betweena saloon and a Y. JL1. C.
