9 over 90: Volunteerism for SARH knows no age limitBy PAIGE GOODENTimes Herald Staff WriterSt. Anthony Regional Hospital has nine volunteers who are 90 years old or older.Five of the nine volunteers met in the atrium of the hospital on Monday and received thank-you cards from the hospital.“I’ve met so many people thatI otherwise wouldn’t have met,” said Mary Schneider.Schneider said she’d been volunteering for the hospital since1979.Her first volunteer job was to push the medicine cart aroundat the nursing home, then she worked at the coffee shop and now she works on the hospital newsletter and other tasks she can do while sitting down.Pearl Quandt also started working at the hospital in 1979.
