Singular U.S. Flag Gift To White CaneMany loving hours went into a special American flag made for the White Cane Club by Mrs. Harold Skoug and presented to club members at their third anniversary' dinner the past week. Mrs. Skoug, 1419 North St., has spent some six months of her leisure time to give club members the feel of a flag patterning they cannot see.in and the blue field of heavy blue cotton. She padded and embroidered the 50 stars, all the work with the idea of aiding the blind to sense the relation of stars and strips through use of materials in different textures.She made the red stripes of velvet, the white stripes of satAt the anniversary dinner in the Mary E. Sawyer Auditorium Sunday, April 11, the flag was of more interest than anything else after its presentation.Each member took a turn atfeeling out the characteristics of the beautiful American banner.
