Goodrich, of Normal. The report was current Sunday that a young lady Normal, who had been sick overin fouryears, was last week instantaneouslyodcured by the hand of God. and Sunday night a reporter oi the Pantograph visited Mrs. Morse’s house -in Normal, where the lady has been for some time. When the reporter entered she was resting comfortably on a cot in the sitting-room, and spoke cheerfully, giving a iiearty shake of the hand. She said that lier name was Adeline M. Goodrich, and her home was at Yellow Creek, in Stepneneon county, about twelve miles i orth of Freeport. III. Her father is a well to-do farmer; his name »as Hirsm Goodrich. The lollowing is a history of hor illness, and the facts as related by her of her restoration l* health by the eflic.«cy of prayer: About six years ago Miss Goodrich, while tripping down stairs, had the misfortune to catch the heel of her shoe at the top of the stairs and fell down the entire flight. She was severely bruised at the time, but shortly recovered, as she supposed. The nervous sick headache and dull pains in the head she has not had since, except, she said, one morning she was a little dull, the result of sleeping too soundly. Those who were with her say that while she was sitting in the chair alter she tirst left her bud she offered up one op the most touching pray Kits of thankfulness to God for what He had done for her, ever heard by men. Several of her friends, who did not know of her miraculous blessing, called the next day and were Biruck with awe at seeing her up and so sprightly. Some, who knew her for years, were so astonished at seeing her, that they turned away unable to speak, while others burnt into tears. She nays that every tuno 6he lilts up her voice to God she receives strength, and that she is going to continue until she is entirely cured. She says that she knows that nothing but a supernatural power can ever cure her, aud she and Dr. Woolsey and Miss Gilbert ascribe the cure to nothing but the Divine arm lifting her from her sick couch and put-TlerccvontivouSept
