UC Irvine gives Bond his releaseThe Orange County RegisterGuard Junior Bond, who started 22 basketball games for UC Irvine this past season, was given his release Thursday.%Bond, a junior, averaged 5.5 points and had 95 assists in his first season with the Anteaters. He is expected to transfer to Southern California College,where former UCI assistant Cameron Dollar recently was hired as basketball coach.Bond is the fourth player to leave UCI since the end of the season. Center Andrew Carlson, forward Juma Jackson and guard Lamarr Paker also asked for their releases from their letters of intent.By JANIS CARR/The Register
