Last Saturday evening- Prof. C. A. Clendenning- and sister, Adah, gave a public reading in the M. K. church at Chili. They are both from Marion college and are artistsintheirlineof work. Their entertainment surpassed anything that has been given there for years. They were greeted by a full house, who cheered them from beginning to close, while the rendition of the various dialects and impersonation of character brought forth roars of laughter and applause. While it was humorous, the eutertainment was strictly religious, non-political and deserves the reputation it has of being a first class church entertainment. By meansofthese entertainments, Mr. and MissClendenning have assisted various churches in this and adjoining counties in raising money for making improvements and defraying other expenses. Any church needing assistance will do well in securing their services.
