Ev1VEEII1scAIoCo*NsvOMtniy.Died—At his home near Fay* ettvtlle, Iod., March 19th, 1896, Adam Sears.He was boro in Nicolas connty, Kentucky, in November, 1818. His father. David Sears, came to this State when the subject of this sketch was one year old. His mother's maiden name was Anna Kern, both of whom have long since passed away.Bm. Adam Sears was the last of his brothers and sisters to leave this world. His wife, who survives him, was the daughter of Bid. Peter Wright, a pioneer preacher of the Church of Christ.To this union were born thir* teen children, seven of whom are living, four boys and three girls.When a young man, he gave his heart lo the dear Savior, and for nearly sixty years lived an exemplary Christian life. For forty years was a deacon in the Old Union congregation in this county. Uncle Adam was a wise, prudent man, very industrious, |* and by hard work and good n.an~ | agement gained a good fortune in this world. He was free from 11 selfishness, kind hearted and loved by all. Bro. Sears was is one of tbe good old fathers on whose shoulders the cares and burdens of the church rested for years, lived to see these duties laid on the shoulders of soother generation, who already enjoy the harvest that was planted by others. There are many to bear testimony to the charity, the kindness aod benevolence of this good man. He was of that class I ^ of which it was said Blessed are the Meek. But we are told that those who die in the Lord, rest from their iabors and their 106 works do follow them. Tbe details of his life cannot be given here, but in his home, in the neighborhood aod in the house of God. every where, he was the glt; same patient loving father aod v* companion. He leaves an aged companion, sons and daughiets to mourn, while the entire com inoity extend its deep sympathy.
