He has been notified to appear in the court room of the Waterloo post office to lake the oath of citizenship.A native of Baghdad, Iraq, andthe first displaced person granted a license to practice' medicine inIowa, he was the center of a dispute in 1853 as to whether an alien should be allowed to practice medicine in the state. He was grant* ed a license in August, 1992.:Dr. Shohet is a 1848 graduate of medical school of the American University pf Beirut in Lebanon and came to the United States .to visit.
