She was elected at a meeting Thursday night April 5, at the home of Mrs. Eddie Helton, 413 West Pecan street, Carbondale. Miss Ruth Ann Craven was assistant hostess.Other officers elected are: Mrs. B. L. Smith, vice-president; Mrs. Louis Rodabaugh, secretary; Mrs.Harry Schultz, treasurer; and Mrs. Crissie McGowan, correspondingsecretary.The chapter voted to buy plav ground equipment for the Attucks school. Mrs. William Cassell wasIselected to contact PrincipalJohn Thomas and see what wasneeded. A spaghetti supper will be held later at Brush school cafeteriato provide funds for this project.Mrs. Wayne Ellis will be in charge. The public will be invited.Final plans were made for the Founder’s Day banquet Apnl 20. This will be a formal affair andwill include all the Beta Sigma Phi chapters in Carbondale.A gift has been sent by the chapter to Mrs. Bruce Merwin, former sponsor, who is now living In Florida. A donation of five dollars was given to the Iron lung fund. A white elephant sale at themeeting netted the Ichapter $15.
