Settle, director of the program.Mayor Green, a graduate of Harvard’s Law School, heads the city of Mound Bayou, situated on 24 miles of rich fanning land owned entirely by Negroes. WThe origin of Mound Bayou began with that of the management of the estate of Thomas Jefferson by his body guard, the late Isaac Montgomery; and has corae through many discouraging difficulties to the present generation Negro families. jlDespite these many difficulties, the city today has many industries fine churches and beautiful places of amusement.
