When Scouting was at its height in Belton, IS Kagle Srouts made a five-week tour of the eastern states and Canada, covering 8,000 miles. They received wide-spread publicity during the entire trip, returning to Helton September I, 1920. A part of tlie expenses for the trip wasdefrayed by tIks chamber of commerce.Those making the trip included, standing left to right, Assistant Scoutmasters A. T. Van Ness and Mack Digby, Scoutmaster M. I. Council, Scouts Clarence Wiseman, Lynn Porter, Itaymoml flander, Malcolm Mcl,can, \V. L. Barber, Lei and Everett, Jr., Floyd Council; kneeling, James Bussell, Tom Bowles, Jr., James Marling Means, Joseph Van Ness and J.aH. McCaslin. Neal Hassell, Jr., whomade the trip, was not present when the picture was made.Two members of this group, \V. L. Barber and Neal Bassel, have died in recent years.
