John Beal's Hobby Market PublicizedIn the Interesting; People section of a current nationally known magazine is found an article of interest to many here as it is about one of Joplin's native sons, Alexander Bliedung, and a shop he operates in Hollywood, Calif.John Beal, ns he is known through screen, radio, stage and television, has established the unique Actor’s Hobhv Market where not only do show folks show their hobbies, but where they may be purchased by interested admirersBelieving that there should be aplace for off-screen creations ofpersons in the entertainment field to be displayed, Beal established the shop about a year ago, as one of his hobbies. His contribution to the shop, in addition to running it, is to sketch portraits of anyone who comes in and wants one. His assistant is Ann Davenport, daughter of Hairy Davenport, veteran character actor, whose hobby is making cigarette holders.Accompanying the article are several illustrations of widely known actors either displaying their works of art or with Beal in his shop.Beal is a son of E. A. Bliedung, 209 North Byers avenue, and a brother of Mis. David Hoover, 534 North Byers avenue.
