Joseph KernerDAR ChapterEntertained1KERNERSVILLE, April «,I The Joseph Kerner chapter, D. A. R. held h very interestingmeeting on Friday evening at tho home of Mrs. Will Snow in High Point with Mra. Snow and Mra.D. E. Headon, associate hostesses. Mrs. J. P. Atkina, the chaplainconducted tho devotionaia. reading a portion of the 22nd chapter of Matthew, closing with * prayer. In the absence of the resent, Mra. Clay Ring, tha viceregent, Mra. E, N. Allen, waa Inthe chair and presided ovor the usual routine. Mrs. Carl R. Kerner called the roll and read thesecretary*# report, Mrs. Zaek L. Whltaher gave the treasurer'* report. Interesting reporta of the convention held in Charlotte, March 80 and 11, were given by Meadamea Whitaker and Kerner. Mra. Frank Whitaker, programchairman, presented Mra. CarlKerner, who presented a moat Interesting paper on the Causes of the American Revolution. Mra. Kerner read exerpta on the subject taken from an American history of 1129. A round tahle discussion followed. At theconclusion of the meeting, thehoHiHgsca assisted by Mlsa Dorla Allen served refreshments In two course* to the following mem- iher: Meadamea Carl Kerner, J.1*. Atkina, Same F. Vance, Jr.,E. N. Allen, Philip Korner, Each U Whitaker, Frank Whitakerand Mian Margaret Allen. The May meeting will meet with Mra Ram F. Vance, Jr., and Mr*.Phillip U Komar.The Terpalrhorean club entertained its members and out of town guests recently at a dance at the Community Houaa, from 9 until 12. The dance proved to he one of the most successful functions to he enjoyed by tha younger set of the city. Directly aftor the dance, a number of the guests were entertained at a supper at the home of Oacar Joyner.I-m
