It is nothing new for Rekdahle to. win hockey honors. In seven years as a manager and coach, he has won five out- of eight cracks at the national title, a record that would be six out of eight if he wins the title match April 8. The eastern leagues have just completed tlie eastern play-offs which started in Madison Square Garden, New York, and ended in Boston. After the playoffs the eastern all-stars selected their team from ,the key players of the different teams in the various leagues.. Reports from the eastern hockey headquarters are that the eastern allstars have one of the roughest and toughest teams ever entered for a national title match.The all-star hockey game April 8 will be the first big-time hockey game ever played in Sioux City and the first use :of the ice in' the new Sioux City auditorium. The hockey game will open^ Sioux City's official Ice Week, April^S through 15, which has been proclaimed by Mayor Dan J, Conley. ‘ ITommy O’Loughlin, director ‘ of; promotions for the Auditorium Activities, Inc., announced that the eohtest to select a name for Sioux City’s i team gained favor with Siouxland S hockey - enthusiasts, as he was being, swamped with names.
