... *2 Election NGovernor Janie* P. Goodrich ha»announced the appointment of W. W.Spencer and William H. Thompson, both of Indianapolis, as member* of the board of state election commissioners. Mr'; Spencer, who was a member of the former board, was roc-commended by the Democratic state commute, anu Mr. Thompson, a#for-mer member, was recommended by the Republican state committee. Governor Goodrich asked Ele Stans-bury( attorney-general, to attend the meetings in an advisory capacity. The board will meet at the Governo’s office Wednesday afternoon.At this meeting the question of whether Indiana women will have a right* to participate in the primary, May 4, irrespective of w'hether national suffrage is obtained by that time, will be discussed. Members of the board have been inclined to be-Sieve that the law does not authorise women to vote at the primary, but the attorney-general reeently issued a contrary opinion informally. Frederick, ft Schortemeler, secretary of the Republican state committee, said members of the Republican organisation are anxious to have this legal question settled, as printers are desiring to prepare the primary ballots asquickly as possible.' Question* in relation to the registration and absentvoters* laws will also be discussed.
