ORPHAN ASYLUM*It *» hoped that the public of Cincinnati end its vicinity, will take a deep interest in this proposed institution. We have been requested to insert the subjoined notice from the Tom nship Trustee*, concerning it; and to ask, that all the papers of the city, will girt it an insertion in the course of next week. The Books for subscriptions and donations for the the Cincinnati Orphan Asylum, mil) be opened on Monday, the 15th inti., for the purpose of receiving subscript sues preparatory to organising this Inslitu-non. 'I’he law provides that, every male person who shall subsrr.be and pay annually f r, and even female who shall subscribe and pay S3, shall be and remain members so long as their subscriptions are punctually paid;—and that, every male fierson mho shall pay $5#, and every female who shall pay $30, shall lie members during life. The Trustees will remain in the Council Chamber from 10 o’clock A. M.to 1i o’clock M.—and from 3 to 5 o’clock P. .M.,each day during the week to receive subscriptions.— No person will be eligible to vote for managers, mho has not paid an annual or life subscription. The managers are to be females. In a community like ourt, that have always ex-!reeded the exigency, when appealed to, in favor of the suffering, it would seem, at the first impression, unnecessary toendeavor to stimulate them to action on the present occasion. But when we consider the 1 magnitude and im{vortance of the Inst lotion, we cannot forbear soliciting t* e united aid and influenceof every class and denomination of rifixent. 1The Orphan Asylum, planned as it is, by the Le- ■gislature, will be under no sectarian influen e of any J kind in its government, but will be a strictly moral institution. Founded, as it is, on a permanent basts, it needs only the fostering hand of the benevolent, to produce the roost beneficial results. It will, if psop-erly conducted, take cognizance of vice in us embryo state, redeem from ruin, and send forth for usefulness. Here the depr ived and unfortunate, who are witiiout friends to guide them in the paths of virtue, mill find an abode where moral principles and indue-trious habits will be inculcated—virtue cherished, | and vice repressed; and will go forth into the world with characters that will introduce them into respect-1 able society; and instead of beiog supported in piisons and hospital?, m ill bear a part of the public burthens, jWe ask you, as a community, to reflect for a moment, and cast your eyes around you as you paw the streets, and visit the prisons and see the juvenile { delinquents there, and then say whether you do not see objects which might in all probability have been reclaimed, but that it is now too late; and whether to prevent their recurrence for the future you will not exert your best abilities to establish an institution that will, in all probability, have that effect.K. A VKKS, I. POINUUL W, BORLANDCincinnati, April 3, 1833.* Fast Day m Ve«mo«t —Governor Palmer, ofTownship T rustees.
