Pan-American Union Schedules Music FestivalWASHINGTON — Nine major musical organizations, nearly a dozen major soloists and more than two dozen composers will be represented at the second Inter-American Musie Festival in Washington from April 22 to April 30.Among the organizations to be heard will be the National Symphony, the CBS Symphony, the Or-questa Sinfonica Nacional de Mexico, the Eastman Rochester Orchestra, the Claremont String Quartet, the Philadelphia Woodwind Quintet, the Howard University Choir and the Coro de Madrigalistas de Mexico.Slew of Composerslt; • .* '1^1 iF; ; I i', -*,1‘ .Composers from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Panama, Peru, the United States and Uruguay will have works performed by soloists from several of those countries.The festival has been organized by the Inter-American Music Council under the auspices of the Pan-American Union. Mrs. John F. Kennedy is the honorary chairman of the festival; its musical director is Guillermo Espinos. Concerts will take place in the Cramton| Auditorium of Howard University, the Coolidge Auditorium in the Library of Congress and the Hallof the Americas in the Pan-American Union.The first festival was held in Washington in 1958.
