I and Mrs. Silas Brubaker, of e | Flora and vicinity; Mrs. Nek d j Sharp and son Dale, of north-t j west of town and Mr. and Mrs. a Ed Miller, of Pyrmont. Mrs. 3 j Humphrey was at one time aresident of this vicinity, her par-- ents being Mr. and Mrs. Isaa« r Betts, who almost a half cen-a tury ago owned and lived on the e j farm now owned by Mart Cling-. enpeel, near Walnut Stump. .Her visit here this week was the first j since she left here 46 years agowith her father and mother andsix brothers and sisters for Kansas, the trip being made in a covered wagon and being over the | old corduroy roads that wended I their way through dense forests. At that time she was 15 year* of age. While here she was tak-I en to the old homestead and alse to the Moss cemetery, where her jnother and one sister have for several years been buried. Her father is still living at the age of 88 years, his home being at Russell, Kansas? Besides Mrs. Overholser other cousins living in this city are Mrs. I. J. Brim, Mrs. Margaret Musselman and Mrs.1 Martha Hadley. Mrs. Humphrey | marveled at the growth of Mora,I which at the time of her goingto Kansas, was only about sevemBears old and contained but aI few stores and homes. She enjoyed her visit here to the fullest.
