Mr. John Shoemaker, one of the oldest and most rcspeetc 1 citizlt;*n of ibis towiship, cclohrated his Golden Wedding on the 4th of February in the midst ol a throng of children ami grand children. Fight children were present, being the entire family excepting one, who lives in Illinois. The old gentlemen reversed the fash ion a-* to presents, and instead of being himself the recipient of gol len gilts he distributed gold coin among his guests. The occasion is said tlt;» have been very pleasant and satisfactory.
