• r ** i •’ -50 Years Ago April 1919: A grand reception has given last Salurday alternoon hy Mr. ami Mrs. Silas Walls at their home, 71?? North State, in honor of their son. Claude Walls, who has recently returned home from overseas. The rooms were dee-orated with the national colors, red, u'hite and blue, and potted plants. The alternoon was spent in music and social chat. Music was furnished by the Walls and Watson orchestra Several piano selections were rendered hy Miss Thelma Hill of Fort Scott and Mrs. Fawn Walls of Humboldt. At six o’clock a three course luncheon was served to the following guests: Mrs. J. W. Gordon. Miss Bess Hall of Fort Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bland, Mr and Mrs. Bert Watson and Mr and Mrs. Russ Walls of Burlington, Mr. and Mrs. Will Walls, Mr. and Mrs Fawn Walls of Humboldt, Mrs. Dora Simon. Mrs. Dora Campbell, Mrs. Ella Mc-Ferron, Mrs. Catharine Esmond, Mrs. Hazel Newman. Mrs. Ruth Walls. Miss Thelma Hill of Fort Scott, Misses Pearl and Ethel Brown of Burlington, Misses Corcne and Marie Walls, Prof. Ezral Watson of Fort Scott, Jess Walls of Appleton City, Mo., Messrs. Edd, Albert, Claude, Pearl and Kimoal Walls, and little Misses Marguerite and Myrtle Ann Walls.
