At least, the theory was o.k. but Indians don’t care for regular routine of building fences and “you can lead a horse to water but can’t make him drink.” in the fall of 1934 Uncle Sam gave the Mcsquakie In-' dians 3S head of cattle. Only thirteen head remain properly cared for. The others wandered onto the highway and got killed or caused damages, lawsuits followed, and the Indians claimed Unde Sam still owns the cows. The rest died or were sold.
