Tha girls and laadars from Troop 379 spent last weekend on tha San Jacinto River on an overnight camping trip. The girls want on a trails' signs' hike. Tha trail was laid by Karan Layton, Brenda Strong, Christina Maledd and Dodia Toups. Thay ware assisted by BrendsBarclay who knew tha trail area vary well. Among the weekend's activities ware flag ceremonies, hikes, knot-tying sessions and Saturday nlgtt a Scouts Own entitled What Girl Scouting Means to Me. The Scouts Own was planned by Kathleen Raasa. A troop dramatics’ session was bald Sunday afternoon with hilarious results. Girls attending were Brenda Barclay, Pam Craig, Christy Dover, Laurie Jordy, Karan Layton, Kathy Muldrow, Christina Maledd, Kathleen Reese^ Norma Reese, Dodia Toups, Brenda strong, and Carole Oltphant, Tha girls camped on a lot loaned to them by Mr. and Mrs. Barclay. They stayed in tents and stopt in sleeping bags. A grand time was had by alL Tha girls are all anxiously awaiting tha next trip coming up.Tha girls from this troop have Just oompleted work on their Art In toa Round badge by doing some ceramic work. They were ably assisted intheir aftorts by Mrs. Strongtha troop transportation chairman. Tha next few weeks will be spent in doing their Troop's Own badge, and planning their next camping trip and planning tor tha Junior Jim Dandy. Tha girls of both troops dressed as people from foreign countries and played games from foreign countries.
