MAKE PLANS FOP FLOATING STAGE IN WATER PAGEANTCarnival Association Com-Tiittees Meet With Pageant MasterPlans for a floating stage on which to present the historic pageant wore discussed with Miss Cecilia Freeland, Pageant Master, by members of the executive eom-mi lice or the Water Carnfrgl association at a meeting held last night at the Water Carnival headquarters on South Poplar street.The stage which will be constructed oji barges will be almost as long as the space between the Greenville Yacht club and the Municipal Terminal and it will be placed out in Lake Ferguson to allow a water carnival between the short and the stage. This will give a waterway for river scenes so much a part of Greenville life,600 Participants • Plans call for about BOO participants in the pageant which will be .presented holli nights of the Carnival, May 26 and 27. Depicting the story ol cotton ami of the Delta, the participants in the pageant will represent all groups in the population.Miss Freeland, the representative of the John B. Rogers Producing company, the largest company producing pageants in the world, was originally from Fort Gibson and has had wide experience with the Rogers company In all parts of the United Slates, from Tacoma,_ Washington, to Long Island, New York. She comes to Greenville from Scranton, Pa., and wilt be here a week «■
