down the bay Sunday.The funeral of Capt. Jonah Richards, the owner of the tug Kitty Smoke, occurred last Sunday. The Smoke was laid up on that day in honor of Capt. Richards.There were half-a-dozen or more vessels in port last Saturday, and each of them had the American flag flying at half-mast in commemoration of the death of our beloved president.The schooner Crlss Grover has been released from the shore at Sister Bay and taken to Milwaukee for repairs by the tug Welcome. It is not known to what extent the Grover was damaged.The fine sailing yacht Idler was in the lower part of this bay a portion of last week. On Friday she came to anchor off the village and remained for a short time, after which she cleared for Chicago via canal.The lighthouse board is vainly endeavoring to. ascertain the whereabouts ot Mrs. H. Sherwood, if stil! alive,' who owned what is now commonly known as “Sherwood’s Point,” at the mouth of Sturgeon Bay. Any information as to her whereabouts will be | thankfully received at The Advocate office.Capt Andrew Keith, lost with the Van Valkenburg, had sailed all his life—from 14 years of age—and was one of our very best navigators. The mate was also a good navigator as also was Robert Keith, the second mate.
