Gilbert Porter of Massillon, O., celebrated the 48th anniversary of his liberation from slavery on the 22d. invited the entire population of thetown to a grand barbecue at his expense. He had oxen, sheep and pigs, , He has accumulated quite a fortune since emancipation and is quite feeble.
