Binding grain by machinery haa been suc-cesslully accomplished in Iowa. The Madison Journal says; we witnessed yesterday the trial of a grain binder upon the farm of Caleb Jewett, This binder may be attached to any hand-raking reaper. It takes one man to direct it. The grain is neatly and strongly bound in sheaves as the reaper proceeds.—The band is of wire. The oost of wire enough to bind an aore of average grain 111 about fifteen cents-not more, it is estimated, than thevalue of grain lost in the bands when sheavesare bound in the ordinary manner.
