Mother and Children Retqjn With ‘Friend’ From 2 Weeks JourneyCRNTBI^ PQIt^T, gept. 19.—Mrs. Vernard Fee of this place, mother of five children, the oldest 15 and the youngest 18 months, Is back home after a disappearancc which extepded from Sept. 2 until yesterday when the fqjpily of six and Ralph Owens, characterized by the mother as !'juat a good friend, were found parked along the road near Clutter by a fliqil carrier.A Ford touring -car owned by Oweps had been their cramped home for the two weeks and their, jouriiey had led thcpr to a po\nt between St. Faql and Duluth. It was at Pine City that tty* futility of their mission impressed itself hpon both Mrs. Fee an{l young Owens and they turned back. They passed thru Mason City twice. rUnhappiness caused by quarrels withher husband caused her action, Mrs. Fop explained. The open road seemed ’preferable to constant bickering, she said. But traveling without funds and in cramped quarters a’.so had its drawbacks, she discovered. Owen3 was forced do stop at various po(nts and work for a day or two in order to procure fuqds for gasoline mid food.
