Success is already assured.—According to recent statistics the colored people of Texas own over l.OOU.OOO acres of land and pay taxes on #20,000,000 worth of property. They have 2,(X)0 churches, as many Bunday-schools and benevolent societies, ten high schools, 2,500 common schools, 3,000 teachers aud 125,000 children attending school.—Mr. Archibald H. Grimke, of Hyde Park, Boston, was last week appointed editor of the Beacon. The Herald has two colored writers, Miss Lillian A. Lewis and Mr. J. Gordon Street. The Globe a reportor, Robert T.
