—Leo, the 3-year-old son of Mr. Jno. Koestner, a teamster, residing on North Hill, had a miraculous escape from death yesterday afternoon. His father had just received a load of hay and had gone over to his barn, which is about a block from his house to help unload the wagon. Leo, the little fellow*. had followed his father over to the barn unnoticed, and was playing around the load of hay, when the farmer loosened the heavy pole, which is on every load of hay to keep from slipping, and pitched it down, grazing the little fellow’’s face and coming dow*n w’ith full force upon his shoulder. He was picked up unconscious and carried to a house near by, w*hen a doctor was hastily summoned. Although no bones w*ere broken, the boy was badly bruised up but resting nicely today.
