While conditions In general saemedmore satisfactory than in other mining districts, it was felt that there was room for a great deal of improvement.In order to more fully realise the problem confronting the local miners and to arrive an ome practical solution. it was decided to call an open mass meeting for 2:3o o’clock next Sunday afternoon at labor headquarters. An effort will be made to h4vo out a representative audience from the local unions.It was ^decided to invite Alexander Howatt of Pittsburg, Kaa, state organizer for Kansas, to attend the meeting and deliver the main address. Among the local speakers who nave agreed to make short talks on local conditions are Marlon Cope, district organizer; President Hunter, of the local union, and W. J. Evans. A committee composed of Marlon Cope. R. R. Ristine and President Hunter was appointed to make arrangements for the mass meeting to be held next Sunday afternoon.
