I Palo Alto stadium at 11 a following day.m. tneFRESNO, Oct. 22.—(HD—Although Joe Vargas is Fresno’s favorite middleweight, the fans here jeered long and loudly when the referee handed him the decision over Indian Jimmie Rivers of Fullerton after 10 roundslast night.The fans indicated a draw wouldhave suited them better. Vargas appeared the loser by a small margin in the first eight rounds but came back in the last two to even things up in whirlwindstyle.
