Arnott, an employe of the Adams Express comnay, was arrested in his apartments at No.. 310 Broadway last night by Detective J. Sullivan, of Chicago, upon a warrant issued upon an indictment in the Cook county . courts, charging him with wife desertion. He was taken to Chicago this morning at £ o'clock to face the charge.:Arnett left Chicago about three *«• years ago leaving a newly married-wife. Shortly after his departure Mrs. Arnett gave birth to a child. . Arnett traveled about and at last, located in Kokomo,, where -he secured employ- ; meat with the Adams Express com— pany, of which his brother was local agent On Sept. 28 he came to this city and took a position as driver of the “pickup” wagon for the same company.He was free to talk of the affairsp the officers and was placed in jail to await the train. The penalty of the crime Is an indeterminate sentence of not less than one year.— o '■■■
