Heart Stroke Is Fatal To Marblehead’s MayorMARBLKULAO (Special)— George F. Kherwine, (H, mayor of Marblehead for Tl years anil one of the most colorful and widely known men in this section, died suddenly of a heart attack in his home here lastnight.Born at Danbury Nov. Tv 1 S‘m, he came to Marblehead as a chiUJ and spent his entire life here.In addition to his unusually long tenure as mayor, Mr. Kbrrwinc hasoperated the Kherwine Hotel and movie theater and served as justice of the peace, clerk and treasurer of the school board, towns hi]) clerk, notary public and a director of the local bank.He was completing his 16th term as mayor this month, and had been nominated for re-election Nov. r». He also has been prominently identified with civic and* fraternal organizations.Surviving are his wife: two sons, Franklin, at home and Leo. of Napoleon, O.; three daughters. Mrs. Kdna Reuse r, Olga Kherwine and Marian Kherwine at home; three brothers, Fred of Windham, O., Kdward of Florida, and Henry of Cleveland, and two sisters. Mrs. .John Bergman of Danbury and Mrs. I*. Molder of Lorain.The body was removed to the Corner and 'Wolf funeral home at I’crt Clinton to be prepared for burial. Arrangements have not been completed.
