Harry Greenberg, owner of the metalwofks in Murphysboro, offered his men $100 if they bring the creature in alive, and $25 if it’s brought in dead.BI T, THE tale of the metalworks men is no pink elephant. The “Varmint of the Amazon,” as they call it, was seen by several of them.thistoo. But, it has a bushy tail, muchlonger than the tail of a squirrel, and it’s gray. It’s much too large for a squirrel, too small for a wolf, or fox, or the bear that the trampsaid he saw.This creature resembles a dog a little. It has the face of a dog, maybe.
