CLAIMED BY DEATH.Dr, Juliet Monro* Thorpe, of Cincinnati, Dies at the Home of Her Parent*, in Xenia.Dr. Jullefc Monroe Tliorpe, wife of Charles E. Thorpe, of the Commercial Gazette editorial staff, died at 12:30 yesterday morning, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Monroe, Xenia, O., after an illness of several months. The affection from which Dr. Thorpe’s death resulted was necessarily fatal, and the long period of illness was borne by her with exceptional fortitude, evincing a strength of character in keeping with her life.Dr. Thorpe’s mother is Mrs. Henrietta L. Monroe, President of the Ohio Branch of the W. C. T. U., and widely known throughout the UnitedStates..The people of Xenia, where she was born and reared, took great pride in the career of Dr. Thorpe. After graduating in that city she entered Vassar College, and upon completing the course at that Institution for the higher education of women enrolled herself among the students of the Women’s Medical College, of New York City. Completing the course there she entered upon the practice of her profession in New York City, and after the expiration of two years, was married to Mr. Thorpe and removed to this city, where she became a member of several medical societies and took high rank in the profession.The devoted husband spent much of the titne, and all that could possibly be spared from his exacting newspaper duties, at tne bed-side of his afflicted wife.
