No Leak At Missile SiteSEARCY, Ark (AP) — Air Force officials say the illness of a crewman at a Titan II missile silo near Searcy was not caused by exposure to missile fuel.Col. Mike McRaney of the Strategic Air Command headquarters at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., said Thursday that the crewman complained of nausea while he and another crewman were conducting a routine inspection of the site Wednesday.McRaney said both crew members were rushed to Little Rock Air Force Base hospital for observation One of them was examined and released immediately and the other was released Thursday, McRaney said.Because of the possibility his illness could have been caused byeither a fuel or oxidizer leak, a very thorough check was made at the missile site,” McRaney said. “There is absolutely no leak of any kind at the site nor has there been any accident, incident or injury to any personnel.”A fuel leak at a Titan II silo near Damascus, Ark., on Sept. 19 resulted in a massive explosion that killed one Air Force sergeant and injured 21 other Air Force personnel. The explosion also led to the evacuation of about 1,400 area residents.
