I.* Oct. l.-Chlef Justice Matteson and Associate Justices TilUng-host and Stiness, sitting as a full bench ihere to-day* granted an absolute divorceto Emeline Fraser Blackslock, who charged her husband, George Tate - Blaekstock of Toronto, with neglect to provide for her. Mrs. Blackatock hoa many friends In society here, whom she made during her brief residence in Middletown, a suburb of Newport, but they were unaware of tho fact that her husband was one of the most distinguished barristers in all Canada until she said so on the witness stand this morning.Mr. Blackslock Is Queen's Counsel, and has a regular retainer from the Canadian Pacific Railroad. Mrs. Blackslock stated that she was married at Bay City, Mich., In 18S0, and that her husband had elnco then failed to support her and hertwo children. In this she was corroborated by her mother. Mrs. D. M. McMaster of Toronto, who has to contribute to her daughter’s support, and C. J. Lawson, a financier. Mrs. BlackstocK came here from Toronto* $nd has lived in Rhode Island a little more than long enough to give her a standing In the divorce court, which Is a year. She occupied Boothden, the beautiful place that Edwin Booth built. F, B. Peckhatn was her counsel.The respondent was represented by C. A. Ives. who. however, made no contest. Mrs. Blackslock was given the custody of her two children.
