She had been ill for two weeks or more and her condition became grave just before she died at about one-thirty o’clock yesterday. Funeral services have been arranged for the graveside in Laurel* Hill for four o’clock this afternoon with the Dr. Paul B. Leath officiating. Pallbearers are Messrs. J, A. Campbell, Harris Mitchell, R. L. Wyche, C. S. Mallard, Richard Mitchell, Elzy McLeod and A. W. Pittman. The family have requested that no flowers be sent.Miss Blackshear was bom on what is known as the Blackshear Plantation, in 1872. daughter of James Mitchell and Harriet Mitchell Blackshear, both members of well-known and pioneer families of this section of the state. Surviving are her sisters Miss Harriet Blackshear, Mrs. E. L. Brown and Mrs. Harry Wyche. There are many close relations in this city and section. For many j ^ years Miss Blackshear has been ; *s * center of a large circle of friends and her character and activities were characterized oy modesty and a gentle and becoming dignity. Her fricnedly attitude and her innate goodness made her a powerful factor in the moulding of the tenets of those, who surrounded her and gave to ner an abiding affection, especially to the nieces and nephews who shecherished and felt affection.*Another of the older citizens has gone ^and it is with sorrowtthat many who knew and loved her will know of her unexpected death and the passing of one o* the county's most prominent citizens of the older generations.Whiddon’s Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.M of 1maibee;andderjgiftcraiWhi*sur]tioneo-(TtheloMaipaiihonoffeoneforneslt;MStillchaV.
