MRS. DAVID TURPINnee Nancy MercerWedding Vows ReadThe First Christian church was the setting of the marriage of Miss Nancy Mercer and David Turpin. The double ring ceremony was read by the Rev. Roy Fields, jr.Mrs. Della Mercer, 619 North Fourth street, and Merle Mercer, Nortonville, are the bride’s parents. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Sirs. Gerald Turpin, Rushville.Mrs. Ronald Pickman was organist.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of imported white Cluny lace and pleated poly-organza. Her full length veil of English illusion fell from a Cluny lace cap and formed a chapel train. She carried a bouquet of multicolored daisies.Mrs. Robert Grippin was matron of honor and Miss Linda Pierce was maid of honor. They wore gowns of apricot crepe with white Cluny lace bodices. Each carried a bouquet of white carnations, pom pons and yellow daisies and wore a carnation, pom pon and daisy in her hair. The bridesmaids were Misses Penny and Pam Mercer, LeaAnn Pierce and NancyChamberlin. They wore gowns of maize yellow with white Cluny lace.Candlelighters were Marla and Lisa Turpin. Angie Ar-montrout and Rhonda Turpin were flower girls. Howard Turpin carried the ringsServing as best man was Robert Grippin. Paul Kissinger, . Mike Kepner, Richard Sinclair*, Robert Wohletz and Ronald Weitlich were groomsmen. Seating the guests were Terry Strong and Gerald Jones.Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church undercroft. Misses Wanda Reed and Debbie KuckJeman arranged the gifts. Cake was cut by Miss Sandy Monson and serving punch was Mrs. Vincent Eckart. Mrs. Evelyn Mercer presided at the guest book.A dance was held later at the VFW Post Home.The bridegroom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at La Mall.The couple is at home in Decade Acres.The bride is a graduate of Atchison High school and the bridegroom was graduated from DeKalb High school.
