| Judge Craig thig. afternoon in the circuit court awarded a divorce toElizabeth Bayless from Edward Bay-.less and gave her the custody of her two children. A difficult arrange-ir.ent was present in the Bayless di-' orce case. In April of 1922 the hus-♦band and father, Edward Bayless, disappeared from his home, abandoning his young wife and at that time 2-year-old daughter, - Mary Eliza-1 beth. Three months after the fath-! cr’s departure another child, a batyboy, was born. Since the time of the husband’s disappearance the -young mother has been making a living for herself. The father of the uefeadarrtrwho left his wife and child, then took into his family the young girl child. The mother of that child in the appearance at the court room this afternoon asked that the youngster be taken from the grandparents.Judge Craig stated that the only thing the court could do was to majce orders and not to make over the affections and emotion^, of the people.! • •In decreeing the order that the children be given into the custody of the mother the judge added that the, youngster would remain at the home of its grandparents until conditions-justified the action of letting themother take care of her.* • **-- - A*'
