Iva Worrell MercerIva Worrell Mercer, 85, 4302 OldRaleigh Road, died Friday at the home. 1The funeral will be held at 1:30 lt;p.m. Sunday at Shingleton-Davis Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Joseph Creech and the Elder Harold Pittman will officiate. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.Surviving are six daughters, Bessie Isadore Baker of Elm City, Helen Ruth Page of Wilson, Ruby Mercer Williams of Durham, Louise Mercer Roberts of Raleigh, Faye Mercer Tew of Garner and Linda Mercer Lamm of Wilson; two sons, William “Bill” Mercer and Roney T. Mercer, both of Wilson; sister, Esther Evans of Bailey; brother, Alton Worrell of Wilson; 25 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shingleton-Davis Funeral Home.
