The defendant In the case is fighting the proceedings, his attorney being T. A. Marquam. Mrs. Steil is being represented by J. Dillow and Morton E. Stevens.The complaint of the plaintiff alleges that the defendant deserted her January 1, 1909, and has since that time refusel all supiport, leaving her to support herself and their child, Melville, aged 7 years, by her own labor. It Is also stated In the complaint that the couple were married fn Dawson in 1902 and plaintiff asks custody of the Issue of the marriage. Alimony in any sum that the court sees fit to provide Is also asked well as an interest in quartz property of the alleged value of $50,000.The cross-complaint sworn to by the defendant, askes that all of the prayers in the complaint of. thf plaintiff be denied, but also asks absolute divorce.
