Break-a-HeartRanch TradedSpecial to Gazette-JournalSMITH VALLEY — The well known 'Break - a - Heart’ ranch owned by Mrs. Richard Waring, has been traded for California properties, it was announced this week.Change of osvnership was made to two Californians and the ranch was divided. The new owners are Joseph Chaves of Sacramento and Ryland Goodsprings of Chico.‘Break - a - Heart’ ranch consists of some 5,000 acres of deeded land with adjoining range permits from the Bureau of Land Management. The ranch extends along the Carson River lor some 10 miles m the Fort Churchill area.During Bonanza days when Virginia City was a booming mining „ town, housewives looked to the ranches along the Carson River for their fresh vegetables and fruits which were hauled up the steep grade by team and wagon.The Glenn A. Devenpeck Co. ranch brokers of Gardnerville have indicated that the value of traded properties would exceed million.
