Miller’sAffections.Charging that he alienated the af-fections of his wife, Edward Lewark of Swayzee, has filed suit in the (irant Superior court asking for damages in tlie sum of $5,000.The complaint states that Lewark and Dora E. Downs were married on September is, Isles, at Swayzee.Lewark represents that he provided a comfortable home for his wife, and that they lived together peacefullyand happily until the defendant, Miller, stole his wife's affections.Lewark alleges that on March 15, 1S99, the defendant, Miller, contriving by acts, blandishments, etc., to | deprive him of the love, affections, comfort, society and assistance, did, with malicious purpose,plan to alienate the affections of his wife, and for tnis purpose came to his home whiie the plaintiff was absent onij March I , 189'J, and many times ! since. Lewark further representsthat Miller belittled and bemoaned h.m to his wife and in bis own home, and by other alleged false insinua-tions so prejudiced and poisoned j the mind of Ora Lewark against her i husband that she left him September | 1, 1904, and has since remained| away at the direction and advice of Miller, and against the wishes of the(plaintiff. It: is stated that Mrs. Lew-| ark some time ago applied for a di-I voi ce.Lewark says that his home is now desolate and ruined, that he is deprived of the services of his wife in domestic ffairs, that he has lost her love and respect, that he has suffered in mind and body, and that he isdisgraced and homeless, all to his damage in the sum of $5,000, which is the amount of judgment he demands.
