In answer to a published communica tion of a resident of W**st Main street who wauts to know w hy that t.iorouyh* fare is not sprinkled, Gilbert N, Porter states that he is perfectly willing to dis-trioule water whenever it is desired, provided the beneficiaries will pay for it. the same as business ruen do in East Main and Erie streets. But. for instance, he cannot afford to sprinkle in front of forty residences where only twenty will consent to pay the toll.
