R. Sparks In 1865, his mill at 8tauoton, III., turning out its first flour on May1, of thst year, the date of our bridgecelebration making the 39th annlver •sry of bis milling career. Captain Sparks is not only the senior mill owcer In the State, but one of the best known and prominent in the country. He has taken a conspicuous part in all the great milling orgauisa-tloos and has been foremost In their o tunaels.A fall description of the plant of the Sparks Milling Co. has already been given in this paper.Sufficient to say, that the mill has the most perfect modern machinery and admirably situated on the general levee tracks and the river, has unaur-facilities for the rapid handling of the Immense amount of material dally required.The importance of this may be seen when It is remembered that, when running full capacity. It requires about 7,000 bushel* of wheat per day to keep the mill supplied, or about twelve car loafs. The shipments of flour and feed amount to as many cars mor», making a full freight tram to be ha a-died everv dav.
