Have Our People Gone Divorce Mad?—ERE IS A QUESTION that sensational preach- ers and moralists and debating societies andwoman's clubs may discuss and find the subject full of meat:“Have our people gone divorce mad?”Between the first -a ay of January and the 20th day of March, of this ywr, 103 petitions for divorce were filed in the courts of Vigo county, and in thrre-fourths of the cases the petitioner for a dissolution of the married ties was the woman. Cruel and inhuman treatment, which apparently hides a multitude or sins, was the cause for action in a great majority of cases, although abandonment, drunkenness and failure to provide figured in many of them. Between the dates named, January 1st and March 20th, only 209 marriage licenses were issued by County Clerk Joyce, showing a percentage of half as many divorces as weddings.
