Frederick P. Champ, BaFrederick P. Champ, 80, veU-fcnown Logan banker and active in civic, business, commerce and political ciftdes, died Monday while visiting la Pasadena, Calif.Mr. Champ w»s kmg a prominent figure in the Democractic Party and was a leader in the state and national Chamber of Commerce.Former Bank PresidentThe former president of the Cache Valley Banking Co. for many years beeame a member of the advisory board of Walker Bank and Trust Co. when Walker Bank acquired the Logan institution.Mr. Champ was born June 4,1896, in Salt Lake City, a son of George Herbert and Alla Dora Cochran Champ. He married France Elizabeth Winton Dee. 29,1921.He was president of Cache Valley Banking Co. from 1922 to 1959, then became president of the Cache Valley Building Co., Utah Mortgage Loan Corp. and Champ Investment Co. He was also director of the Salt Lake City branch, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.In the 1930s and 40s, he was chairman of the board of directors of Commercial Security Bank of Ogden and a director of Paramount Fire Insurance Co.Long active in the U. S. Chamber of Commerce, he was a national director for several years and vice president in 1951.He a was a director of St. Mark’s Hospital and a director of Title Insurance Co. of Boise, Idaho. He was also a trustee and president of the board of trustees of Utah State Agricultural College.Silver Beaver AwardLong active in the Boy Scouts of America, he was the holder of the Silver Beaver and Silver Antelope awards. He was also a member of the regional council of the Boy Scouts.He was a member on the executive committee of the Utah Foundation, on the Utah Highway Patrol Civil Service Commission and a member of several professional and trade associations.Mr, Chimp was an officer and member of the Mortgage Bankers Assn. of America; member and once president of the Utah Bankers Assn.; member and regionalpresident of the Associate Harvard Clubs and member and past president of theRotary' Club in Logan.He was a member of the Episcopalian Church. He was a member of the Logan Golf.
